Yes, “Helvetica” is a movie about a typeface, but for word nerds, the dorkumentary, er, documentary is an interesting peek into the minds of those elusive creatures we work with: graphic designers.

Sure, designers poke fun at word nerds for getting our geek on over issues like split infinitives or effect versus affect. But don’t be fooled, they can get as nerdy as the best of us. Check out a few pithy words from uber-designer Michael Bierut:

Bonus MRP moment: Read what Michael Bierut has to say about “Why the Obama ‘Brand’ Is Working.”

Second bonus moment: Comic Sans walks into a bar. The barman says, “We don’t serve your type here.”
