Sobering

This copy came across MRP’s desk today:

“Most sober analysts – and the majority of Americans – agree that there is no military solution to the conflict in Iraq, only a political one.”

But evidently, the drunk analysts have come up with something.

  1. The use of “and” here also seems to imply then that most Americans are inebriated.

  3. Yes, implying that Americans are neither temperate nor analytical. However the writer may have been projecting. These 2 characteristics are not commonly associated with newpaper reporters, either.
