Well-documented that S. (age 3 1/2) loves The Sound of Music. Equally well-documented is the fact that S. doesn’t always get all the words.
In point of fact, the other day he was running around the house singing, “Jolly new yawwwwn! Jolly new yawn!!!” for quite a while before we figured out what he was really singing.
In the opening scene of Sound of Music, the nuns are all in the chapel singing — in beautiful harmony, natch — “hallelujahhhhhh . . . hallelujahhhhhh.” I guess I could see why S. doesn’t exactly get that word.
The funny thing is that going to church actually always was like a jolly new yawn to MRP when just a mighty red crayon.
