Yes, Virginia, it is a typo

I know it’s hard to imagine, but MRP is nothing if not totally up on the latest sports news.

Now, let’s see, how does this one go? Oh yes, a sports team, might be basketball, I’m not sure, won some big competition the other night, what’s that called again? Um, don’t remember, exactly.

But skipping ahead to the important part of this story, the t-shirts that they wore to their little post-game victory party had typos in them. Not just any old typo, but a typo in the name of their school.

Oh yes, the team must have been a basketball team from West Virginia. I see that here in the picture now.

Maybe they had their t-shirts made out of state. Virginia is dreadfully hard to spell after all.

  1. English and the Mountain State have always had a tenuous relationship. Perhaps, after long years of bitter division, they’ve simply decided to go their separate ways?

Oddly, West Virginia’s (sic?) electorate voted in Nov. 2006 to make English the official language of the state.

I’ve known couples that behave like this. They know their relationship is doomed and so they run off and get married in the hopes that legal bonds will hold them together. It’s all so dysfunctional.
