Mother, may I?

Filed under: At home with MRP,Kidspeak — mighty red pen @ 12:38 pm

A special MRP in honor of S.’s fourth birthday.

MRP would venture to guess that most kids S.’s age (4) are probably equally challenged in the areas of please and thank you.

But one thing that really amuses me is the way is he uses the word may.

S.: Get that for me!

MRP: How do you ask for things?

S.: Please may you get that for me?

He does not ask Can you please get that for me? or May I please have that? It’s sort of a combination of the two.

Like the other night, when the tickle monster attacked him, he was very polite. Please may you stop?! he shouted, between giggles.

  2. The Tickle Monster was spotted again at your house!? And Homeland Security just cut its outlays to Massachusetts again. Oh, S., I am sorry and may you have a happy birthday.
