On the receiving end

This horror was seen during a tour of MRP’s new office space. Clearly, there is work to be done there.

Okay, here’s the deal: it’s spelled receive, not recieve. This is a pretty basic spelling error. You could remember it using the old chestnut: i before e except after c or when sounding like a as in neighbor and weigh.

Except this might be one of the worst spelling tips ever, because it has about five thousand exceptions. Okay, I’m exaggerating a little. Just learn how to spell receive. Or use this handy website, misspelled.com.

  1. I always spell receive wrong. The “i before e” ditty doesn’t help.
    Thank god for spell check.
