Maybe it should have been called National Grammar Week

We’re having so much fun celebrating!

From artist Adam Gustavson, a wonderful illustration in honor of National Grammar Day.

A friendly reminder that March 4th is National Grammar Day,
and so it bears mentioning that even if, in the end, the statement
“Ain’t no way no flying pig’s gonna hit this spot twice,”
achieves through its triple negative
an outcome no less negative than intended,
such a syntactic transgression rarely goes
uncontradicted or
unpunished.

Hat tip to SPOGG.

  1. I missed it! If only my sister had shown me this awesome website earlier. As a homeschooled kid who was schooled in grammar for 12 years straight and a former tutor at my alma mater’s writing lab, The Mighty Red Pen is right in my reading sweet spot. You have been RSS-ed.
