Spotted on Dontdatehimgirl.com:

dont-date-him

I don’t know about dating him, but definitely don’t date his proofreader, who doesn’t seem to have spotted this inverted apostrophe in the site’s logo.

  1. Perhaps it was an intentional error to draw attention to how awful the “him” actually is, or rather the degree of how much you should not date him? I’m just trying to give the benefit of the doubt here.🙂

(sidenote: I cannot make my italics work, otherwise ‘him’ would’ve been italicized, not in quotations)

I like this blog a lot.

  2. Great catch, MRP!

I don’t know if you’re much of a sports uniform fanatic, but Paul Lukas of the great UniWatch blog devoted part of an entry in early February about something quite similar to what you’ve noticed here: http://www.uniwatchblog.com/2009/02/03/a-niggling-little-thing-that-drives-me-totally-batshit/.

This is one of those “I hadn’t noticed it before, but now that I know about it, I see it everywhere” type of errors.
