Today in the Greater Boston area we celebrated Marathon Monday Patriots’ Day. This is the day that we cheer hundreds of runners as they run for 26 miles we honor the beginnings of the Revolutionary War. It’s just a huge coincidence that the Boston Marathon also takes place on this day (wink wink).
I have heard—because there is nothing, and I mean nothing, on God’s green earth that could ever compel me to find this out in person by running the marathon myself—that one of the greatest parts of running the Boston Marathon is passing the throngs of cheering supporters, in particular those who are stationed in and around Wellesley College.
Hat tip to Gopher, who spotted this little tidbit here.
