In honor of the girl who just won the Scripps National Spelling Bee, here’s that AT&T ad that always makes me chuckle:

Anamika Veeramani of Ohio won by spelling stromuhr correctly. According to Merriam Webster, this is a “a rheometer designed to measure the amount and speed of blood flow through an artery.” Oh, of course.

    • Good question. I’ve also wondered what the point is of learning how to spell all these words without having any intention of making them part of your vocabulary.
