Time for watches? Try time for proofreading instead.
Oh dear. Someone really should have clocked that.
(Do you have that usage – clock (v.) as slang for ‘notice’ – in AmE?)

Very punny, Stan! I haven’t heard that use of clocked before, but maybe someone else stateside has (do you have the usage that means “punched the guy’s lights out”?).

Yes, we have that sense too. Neither is particularly common, but I hear them both from time to time.
