Spelling’s rough ride

I love these sports jersey typo stories. They’re always enough to make me want to say “great googly-moogly.”

This one comes from Theodore Roosevelt High in Washington, D.C. According to the Washington Post, the team wanted t-shirts that said Riders (an homage to Roosevelt’s Rough Riders). They got t-shirts that said Ryders.

My favorite part of the story is the part where the vendor tries to convince the school that Ryders is more cool than Riders because it recalls Ruff Riders, the music label. Uh, yeah. In the meantime, whoever approved these t-shirts should practice speaking softly and carrying a bigger red pen.
