Hat tip to Gopher, who wrote to share this little tidbit from AT&T:

She pointed out the apparent disconnect between what they say:

And what they mean:

She writes, “Not even ‘some restrictions.’ It’s significant restrictions. And yet: Sky’s the limit. Like parents who tell their kid, you can be anything you want to be when you grow up, as long as what you want to be is a doctor.”

I’m thinking with freedom like that, who needs restrictions?

Modifiers misplaced

This AT&T ad has a misplaced modifier that makes MRP giggle every time I see it. Oh whoops, just wrote my very own misplaced modifier. Let’s try that again: I giggle every time I see this AT&T ad, which has a misplaced modifier in it. Or: The misplaced modifier in this AT&T ad makes me giggle every time I see it. Harrumph.

“Come Monday, you’re going to be the girl with the crazy father who no one wants to date.” I think we all know what that means: Dad’s going to be awfully lonely on Monday.

MRP’s favorite moment in this AT&T ad about a family of word nerds sitting around just enjoying a friendly game of txt-Scrabble? When the mom says, “I have completely failed you as a parent.”

Hat tip to Helen’s Dad.
